Inspiration through Nature

Many of the ideas I explore in paintings as well as in sculptures are inspired by the interplay of man made structures as they are confronted with the natural world.  The forces of nature and time are the great equalizer for all things we create.  No creation is immune from the entropy of erosion, wind, light, and water.  For all the effort we expend to mine heavy metals, harness the lumber from our forests, to take the stone from the earth and utilize these materials to bridge, build and construct a more ordered world... the seemingly effortless movement of the tides and winds, roots and rust eventually return all our constructs back to the earth.
